2.1 Information you provide
- Account information: your phone number (used to create and sign in to your account) and a unique user ID.
- Profile information: your display name, username, bio, avatar and other profile photos, and optional details such as your ZIP/postal code.
- Content you create: posts, comments, photos and other media, activities you host or join, groups you create or belong to, reviews and ratings, and messages you send.
- Social connections: your followers, the people and groups you follow or join, join requests, and users you block.
- Communications: information you provide when you contact support or report content.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Location data: when you create or search for activities, posts, or places, we process location information (including GPS coordinates and place details) to show relevant content nearby. We request location permission and you can control it in your device settings.
- Device & push tokens: push notification tokens (Expo and Firebase Cloud Messaging) used to deliver notifications you have enabled.
- Usage & technical data: basic log and diagnostic information needed to operate, secure, and improve the Service.
2.3 Information from third parties
- We use phone-number based authentication. When you sign in, our authentication provider verifies your phone number.
- When you search for places, we use a third-party maps provider to return location results.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account and authenticate you.
- To provide core features: posting, activities, groups, chat, reviews, following, and discovery.
- To show you relevant nearby activities, posts, and people.
- To send notifications you have enabled (and respect the notification settings you choose).
- To keep the Service safe — preventing abuse, enforcing our terms, and responding to reports and blocks.
- To respond to your support requests.
- To comply with legal obligations.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only as described below:
- With other users: your profile, posts, activities, reviews, and similar content are visible to other users according to the visibility settings you choose (e.g. public, friends, or private).
- With service providers who process data on our behalf, under contract, to run the Service:

5. Data Retention
We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal data, except where we must retain limited information to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.
6. Your Rights & Choices
- Access & update: you can view and edit your profile information in the app.
- Delete your account: you can permanently delete your account and associated data from within the app, or by emailing support@yofriendsworld.com. See our account deletion instructions.
- Notifications: manage push and email notification preferences in the app's settings, or in your device settings.
- Location: control location permission through your device settings at any time.
- Block & report: you can block other users and report content directly in the app.
Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have additional rights such as access, correction, deletion, portability, and the right to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@yofriendsworld.com.
7. Children's Privacy
Yo is not intended for children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.
8. Data Security
We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data and continuously improve our safeguards.
9. International Data Transfers
Our services are hosted on infrastructure that may be located in countries other than your own. Where we transfer data internationally, we take steps to ensure appropriate protection consistent with applicable law.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
